About

Corkage is an independent  fine wine shop, wine bar and small plate venue on Bath’s artisan Walcot Street.

It is the brainchild of two Bath locals – Richard Knighting and Marty Grant.

Marty is a wine enthusiast and Richard is a local, award winning chef.

Our ethos is simple: Make great wine and food accessible at the best price we can, in a convivial atmosphere.

How does the it work?

Option 1 – enjoy our cosy, informal venue and buy wine by the glass, or pay a fixed corkage price to enjoy the bottle. Graze through our menu with small plates of food to match your carefully selected wine.

Option 2 – buy wine post dinner to take home and enjoy with an additional post-dinner discount.

Option 3 – pop in and buy a bottle of great wine to enjoy at home

healthful
and the most
hygienic
of beverages.”
Louis Pasteur

Wine

Our excellent wines are carefully selected using

wine buyer Marty’s encyclopaedic knowledge of great wines,
sourced directly as well as collaborating with some of the

best names in the wine trade.

“We want to remove the mystique or ‘fear’ of wine, and demonstrate how there’s something for everybody, regardless of budget or experience.” – Marty

Most of our wines are available to drink in house, by the glass, by the carafe or by the bottle, as well being available for purchase via our off-sales section.

Wine Tasting: Wine tasting events are already proving to be hugely popular, a Portuguese tasting and an Iberian tasting are on our current calendar.

Please keep an eye on our blog for details and ticket sales.

There’s an online wine portfolio so you can see what you have tried in house in more detail (and order more for home!), and there’s a Wine Club in the pipeline.

Off Sales: as we are local to Bath we may be able to deliver locally, depending on the order size – please feel free to enquire.

Food

Whether you are popping in for a glass of wine and a quick bite to eat, or planning on spending a few hours grazing our offering, there will be food that will suit your mood.

The menu is set up to encourage you to graze our food offering whilst matching it to the wines you are drinking.

From lighter fish and shellfish plates, to meat dishes with big flavours, or spiced vegetarian dishes the menu aims to challenge wine choices and encourage interest in pairing wine and food.

Dishes will be seasonal and may change daily according to what is best on the day from local, trusted suppliers.

wise beguile, make the sage frolic,

and the serious smile.” Homer
