Corkage is an award winning, independent Restaurant, Wine Bar and Bottle Shop in centre of beautiful Georgian Bath.
We serve an ever-changing menu of innovative small plates; the food is freshly cooked using the best locally sourced produce, and our wine list is second to none.
Our Wine List has well as over 100 wines from all over the world. We serve by the glass, by the bottle and we have an ever-changing Coravin wine list of special wines by the glass. We are continually developing our cellar which encompasses interesting wines from small producers, natural wines and rare classics. This also includes building an En Primeur cellar for the future, predominantly featuring wines from the Rhone, Burgundy and Bordeaux.
All of our wines are handpicked, and we are constantly tasting to source the best examples available to us.
The Role & Core Responsibilities:
We are looking for full time wine led waiting staff and waiting staff with a wine itch they want to scratch. Previous restaurant experience is essential to this role.
The role will encompass all aspects of service including wine recommendations and service, upselling unique and rare wines, and introducing the wonderful food our kitchen produces to our guests.
Your food knowledge will need to be on point, and a good working knowledge of wine and food recommendations will be of great benefit, as we’ll need your experience to come into play immediately.
A genuine passion for wine is of huge importance and good basic knowledge will be of great use, although training will be given and is ongoing. We also offer access to WSET qualifications to progress your existing wine knowledge.
You will be expected to attend trade wine tastings, both in house and throughout the region, and you will quickly become part of our wine team.
Beyond that you will need to be involved in the restaurant at all stages from set up to close and everything in between.
About You:
You will be someone with a great personality and a professional attitude to work, as well as having excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn. Your passion and energy will shine through every shift, and you will be looking to progress your career with us at Corkage.
Shifts are mainly evenings and weekends, based on working 5 days per week, Monday – Saturday & occasional Sundays.
Up to 45 hours per week and £10-£12.5 per hour based on age and/or experience + tips package in the range of £2-£5 per hour.
